It was another gorgeous weekend in Ludington! We spent Saturday evening on Hamlin Lake with friends. Several friends with boats gathered and we "tail gated" off the back of one of the pontoon boats. Good food, good fun, good friends, good weather.
Sunday we spent the day at one of the many beaches along Lake Michigan. The water was perfect swimming temperature. My family and I snorkeled for Petoskey stones along the shoreline. We did pretty well adding another 12 stones to our collection.

Wednesday June 9, 2010 Ludington Daily News reported that the Lake Michigan Wind Farm propsed for the shoreline here in the Ludington and Pentwater area, was voted against by the Mason County Board of Commissioners, 9-1. The proposal could have given Scandia Wind and Havgul Clean Energy the go-ahead for a possible wind farm in Lake Michigan just off the shore south of Ludington and north of Pentwater. Scandia Wind and Havgul Clean Energy proposed installing 50-100 wind turbines in Lake Michigan off the coast of Mason and Oceana Counties.
Scandia Wind is now reconfiguring its plans for the Oceana County shoreline as well as the Muskegon/Grand Haven shoreline.
